Hawaiian Summer Festival Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Kennedy High School, Burien, WA
The KSAA-NWR is partnering with the Wakinikona Hawaiian Club and assisting in the food concession at their annual Hawaiian Summer Festival on Saturday July 21, 2007. The Friday evening event is a fun one with lots of wala'au, cutting and chopping to make lomi salmon, poke, mac salad, and mix the poi. Saturday the volunteers will do the final prep of the food; re-steam the kalua pig, help with the BBQ chicken, cook rice, cut the cakes, ice the drinks and help serve the meals throughout the day. In the spirit of laulima, we're asking the alumni to volunteer their time for either Friday, Saturday or both.
